Shark and Dyson users say Amazon's rival vacuum with 25% off is 'worth every penny'

Amazon customers claim they are swapping their Dyson and Shark vacuum cleaners for a more budget-friendly option that's on sale in a new spring clean deal. The Smoture VAC01 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner can now be picked up for £129.99 with the £30 voucher on the product page, taking it down almost 25% from its original £169.99 price tag.

Amazon has also cut £30 off the Smoture VAC02 – which boasts the same motor power, capacity, battery life and review score – to £129.99. Both products have been flagged as an Amazon's Choice item, a label given to highly-rated, well priced products ready for immediate dispatch.

The VAC01 is equipped with a powerful motor and strong suction power, which the manufacturer claims can handle even deeply embedded dirt. It offers four cleaning modes – Eco, Standard, Boost and Auto – which can be chosen via its touch screen display, with Auto mode automatically adjusting suction power to suit the floor type, reports MyLondon.

The display also notifies you of any blockages and shows the battery level, which can last up to 60 minutes – or 18 minutes on the powerful boost mode. The free-standing Smoture comes with a wall-mounted charging station for storing the device while also providing a full charge in four hours, as well as offering storage for the included long flat nozzle and dusting brush.

The Smoture VAC01 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner has achieved an impressive 4.8-star rating after more than 1,250 reviews, 97% of which are four or five stars. This beats Shark's £189.99 Anti Hair Wrap Cordless Pet Vacuum and Dyson's £229.99 V8 Advanced, both of which have a 4.4-star rating.

The Shark model has a slightly shorter battery life than the Smoture, lasting up to 40 minutes compared to 60, but comes with the brand's Anti Hair Wrap Pet Tool, which is designed specifically for homes with pets and can remove embedded hair from upholstery. The Dyson is also aimed at pet owners with its de-tangling technology and can deliver 10% more suction than previous V8 models.

One satisfied customer said of the Smoture: "Worth every penny. I had the Dyson V8 Animal and this beats it. Not only is this far cheaper, it also performs better. It is lightweight but sturdy. You only have to press the power button once to turn it on/off, whereas you have to continuously hold the button for power on the Dyson. It has a convenient touch screen control for the suction power settings. The bagless compartment is also really easy to empty. It has the same wall-mounted stand but this is also designed to be free standing, so you can store it how you like. Highly recommended."

Another user said: "Excellent value, versatile machine. A quality item with a functional design making it easy and versatile to use. It's also simple enough to empty and not difficult to clean. It operates relatively quietly too. The hour-long battery life is a bonus and it doesn't take too long to charge. It seems to be quite powerful. The fact that the end of the floor brush lights up is great for being able to see if you have picked up everything."

A third delighted customer said: "Absolutely amazing, highly recommended. This is absolutely brilliant, I've had Shark, Dyson, Henry, Vax, all the big brands, but this suction power [is] brilliant, better than others on flooring or carpet. However, not all feedback was glowing, as one shopper added: "Not bad, nowhere near the same level of suction as a Dyson, but does the job for now. Decent on hard flooring picking up bits, but needs more power for carpets."
