Sky has unveiled a surprise new offer as part of its January sale, cutting the cost of Sky Glass by nearly £100. Sky Glass packages now start at £27 when spreading the cost – down from £29 and equal to 90p per day over 30 days.

This is cheaper than in the Black Friday sales, when Sky Glass was reduced to £33. The latest deal includes Sky's own 4K QLED smart TV with Sky's new Essential TV plan as standard, providing access to more than 100 channels, including Sky Atlantic, home to popular HBO shows like The Day of the Jackal, The Penguin and The Last of Us.

It also includes subscriptions to Netflix and Discovery+ at no extra cost. For those unfamiliar a Sky Glass TV features built-in TV channels and streaming apps, with content streamed to the TV over WiFi without the need for a satellite dish or Sky box, as well as a six-speaker soundbar and hands-free voice control, reports Birmingham Live.

There are three Sky Glass bundles to choose from depending on budget and screen size, with each model reduced by £96. Prices now start at £27 for the 43" model, increasing to £32 for the 55" model and £37 for the 65" model, giving shoppers a great way to spread the cost of a new smart TV while consolidating their TV subscriptions into one monthly payment.

There's also the option to upgrade to Sky's Ultimate TV plan for an additional £7, providing access to more than 40 extra channels not included in the Essential TV plan, like Sky Max, Sky Documentaries and National Geographic. The Sky Cinema and Sky Sports TV packs are also available for an extra £10 and £20 respectively.

Shoppers should note that a Sky Glass plan consists of two parts; the Sky Glass TV comes on a 48-month loan, while the Essential TV subscription is on a 24-month contract. There's also a £20 upfront cost to get things started, and Sky has stated that prices may change during the life of the plan.

However, Sky isn't the only provider kicking off 2025 with a huge sale, as Virgin Media has slashed more than £500 off selected TV and broadband packages in its own Winter sale. Until February 5, the Biggest Combo bundle is now £504 cheaper at £69 per month – down from £97 – and includes more than 210 TV channels, Netflix and 516Mbps fibre broadband.

For those on a tighter budget, the Bigger Combo bundle is available at £33, offering over 200 TV channels and 362Mbps broadband.
