Midland regions facing 'power cuts' from Storm Éowyn as Met Office announces arrival time

Large parts of the UK will be put under a Yellow weather warning on Friday (January 24) due to forecasted 'very strong winds'.
The Met Office says 'inland areas' could experience winds of up to 50mph to 60mph in places. Separate weather maps from WX Charts shows that gusts could peak at 63mph in the region on Friday.
This could be bring disruption to Birmingham and the wider West Midlands region. The Met Office has warned that power cuts could occur, leaving homes without power and mobile phone coverage.

The Met Office said: "Power cuts are likely to occur, with the potential to affect other services, such as mobile phone coverage." Meanwhile, strong winds could cause damage to buildings, including the likes of roof tiles being blown off.
The forecaster also warned of of "injuries and danger to life" as a result of "flying debris". The Yellow warning for wind is in place from 12am on Friday until 11.59pm that day.
