There’s a better Nothing Phone (3) but you can’t have it

Who wouldn’t want longer battery life?

by · Tech Advisor

The biggest tech news this week is the launch of the Nothing Phone (3), the challenger brand’s “first true flagship” phone, but most customers will get a substandard model.

It’s not completely unusual for phones to get different specs in different markets, but we weren’t expecting it for the Nothing Phone (3). Buy one in the UK or US and you get a 5150mAh silicon-carbon battery.

That’s a decent upgrade on the 4700mAh battery in the Phone (2), but buyers in India get a superior 5500mAh battery.

Charging remains the same at 65W wired and 15W wireless, but this 7% larger battery compared to the global version feels unfair. It doesn’t sound like much, but who wouldn’t want longer battery life?

It’s unclear why this is the case, but in India, the Phone (3) starts at ₹79,999, which converts to around £690 or $935 and goes up for pre-order on 4 July.

For those in the UK and US it costs £799/$799. Find out more about the Nothing Phone (3) release date, price and specs.
