Pixel 10 Pro Fold spec leak points to two major upgrades
Bigger battery, bolstered dust resistance
by Jon Mundy · Tech AdvisorSpecifications for the forthcoming Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold foldable phone have seemingly leaked online.
Google will hold its next big Made by Google event next month, and the follow-up to the fabulous Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold will be on the roster with the rest of the Google Pixel 10 range.
Now, Android Headlines has come forward with what it claims to be “official specs” for the Pixel 10 Pro Fold.
Pixel 10 Pro Fold screen and camera
One small but noteworthy change from last year’s model will be an increase in the size of the external display, from a 6.3-inch to a 6.4-inch AMOLED. It’ll also be brighter to the tune of 3000 nits (up from 2700 nits).
Don’t expect a corresponding adjustment to the fold-out inner display, though. Thanks to smaller bezels, that’ll remain the same 8-inch unit.
We’re not expecting big changes on the camera front, with the same basic camera set-up. That’s a 48MP main, 10.5MP ultra-wide, and 10.8MP 5x telephoto. Even the twin 10MP selfie cameras look the same.
One thing Google will be pushing is the size of the Pixel 10 Pro Fold’s battery, up from 4650mAh to 5015mAh. That doesn’t match up to the Honor Magic V5, which uses silicon-carbon technology to hit 5820mAh, but it handily trounces the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 with its 4400mAh cell.
Pixel 10 Pro Fold performance, design and battery
Google will be switching to a new generation of processor in the Tensor G5, which reportedly uses a smaller, more efficient 3nm process. This will be backed by a fixed 16GB of RAM.
There’ll be an extra storage option this year, with the previous 256GB and 512GB models joined by a 1TB variant.
Perhaps most excitingly of all, we’re hearing again that the Pixel 10 Pro Fold will be the first foldable to fix a familiar foldable flaw thanks to IP68 certification.
It seems there’ll be a straight up choice between the Fold 7’s thinness and the Pixel 10 Pro Fold’s larger battery this year. Of course, the Honor Magic V5 wins in both of these respects, but it’ll lack the Pixel’s level of dust resistance (not to mention its clean software).
There’s going to be a better choice than ever if you’re intent on picking up a full-sized foldable in 2025.
