Galaxy S24 & S25 Users: Your July 2025 Security Update Is Here

Following the same path, the firm has now pushed the latest July 2025 security update to its flagship Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S24 series devices. These updates are necessary for the devices, as they fix the known vulnerabilities and security loopholes in the software.
Samsung pushes July 2025 security update to Galaxy S25 and S24 series
The latest July 2025 security patch update is now available for Samsung‘s flagships in the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S24 lineups. All the models, excluding the FE variant, are already getting it. The OTA (Over-The-Air) update carries the firmware number AYF6 for the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra. For the Galaxy S24 series, the firmware number is BYF1.
Since it’s not a major update, the size of the package is 538MB for the Galaxy S25 series and 468MB for the Galaxy S24 series. The update is rolling out in batches, so you might not have received it yet. However, you can manually check for the OTA by going to Settings >> Software Update. A download button will appear if the update is available.
A minor yet important update to enhance security
Security updates, as mentioned earlier, are meant to fix the existing vulnerabilities and security loopholes of the software. They may or may not bring new features to the device. The latest July 2025 update for the Galaxy flagship addresses as many as 40 security vulnerabilities. Samsung also claims that one major security loophole has been patched with the update.
