Creating a UI can now be done with AI through Google's Stitch software
by Justin Diaz · Android HeadlinesCreating a UI design has never been easier thanks to Google’s implementation of an AI feature in Stitch that lets just about anyone design a UI from start to finish. Google’s idea of “vibe designing” the UI utilizes AI to “transforming static designs into interactive prototypes instantly,” Google says. The idea appears to be quick iteration that is capable of not just getting things off the ground running as fast as possible, but also making quick changes if and when needed.
Using this new feature, you can stitch screens together and then check on how things look and flow using a play button to quickly view how the UI looks and feels. What’s more, is that Stitch with its new AI super powers will be able to generate what is the most logical next screen based on a click. In other words, it knows what the next screen should look like and populates it so you can interact with the UI the same way a user might with a finished app. If something doesn’t look or feel right, you can go back and iterate some more.
The new Stitch AI feature will let you design a UI with your voice
If it wasn’t enough that Stitch is making it easier to design a UI, it’s also possible to use your voice to make some of these design decisions. You can tap on the mic button to talk to the AI agent, which will then be able to give you design critiques in real-time and even make real-time updates.
These changes should already be available in Stitch for those who want to use it. The main thing here is efficiency, as Google says the plan is to have Stitch help people vibe design a UI to take their ideas and turn them into a reality in “minutes rather than days.” So, it’s all about speeding up the process and simplifying the workflow. Something that Google has been consistently working on for the better part of a decade.
