by · Android Headlines

A few days ago, multiple Google Pixel phone users who migrated to the new Pixel 10 series complained about not getting notifications from the Google Home app on their devices. At the time, the Android 16 QPR1 update was reportedly the main culprit for the issue. Google has now officially acknowledged the Google Home notifications issue on the Pixel 10 devices and stated that a fix is on the way.

Google will soon fix the Home app notifications bug on the Pixel 10 series

A handful of Pixel 10 phone users took to online forums and Reddit to complain about not getting notifications from the Google Home app on their devices. It appears that all is not well with the smart home platform and the search titan’s latest Pixel phones. One of the Redditors mentioned that they weren’t getting Google Home notifications on their new Pixel 10 Pro XL.

Some of the Pixel 10 users reported receiving notifications from the app on their smartwatches, but on their phones. So, it appears that the issue is quite widespread, as many people have reported it. Notably, in a Reddit comment, Google officially acknowledged this issue and said that it is working on a solution to fix the bug.

While Google releases a fix, here are some workarounds

Google hasn’t yet revealed when exactly it’ll roll out the solution to fix the Google Home app’s notification bug on the Pixel 10 devices. However, there are a few workarounds for you to try in the meantime. One Pixel 10 Pro XL Redditor advised users to force stop their Google Home app, clear its data, and log back in. For the user, doing this fixed the bug on their Pixel 10 Pro XL.

However, this fix only worked momentarily, as the user started missing notifications again after some time. One Redditor advised the Pixel 10 users to go into the Home app and switch it to using their new device for presence sensing.

Some users found success by changing the app’s battery usage from “Optimized” to “Unrestricted”. That said, we’ll keep an eye out for any official developments on the matter and will post an update if there’s something new to share, so stay tuned.
