OPPO Find N6 Makes It Official With a Crease You Can't Feel and Cameras Worth Bragging About

by · Android Headlines

Today, OPPO officially announced the Find N6. The latest foldable to launch with a nearly crease-less display. The Find N6 may not look a whole lot different from last year’s Find N5, but it is in fact, a pretty big change this year.

OPPO is focusing on “triple-zero”, which is Zero-Feel Crease, Zero-Compromise Flagship, and Zero-Limited Productivity. Which I think OPPO delivers on all of this – check out my OPPO Find N6 Review for more details.

First, let’s talk about that crease. OPPO is calling it a “zero-feel” crease here, meaning that there is still a crease there, but you won’t feel it when swiping across the screen. OPPO was able to achieve this with a few optimizations under the screen.

OPPO is using its second-generation Titanium Flexion Hinge, which uses 3D Liquid Printing technology – an industry first. This utilizes ultra-precise laser scanning to detect microscopic surface irregularities. Then high-resolution 3D printing applies custom photopolymer droplets to fill these regions with surgical precision, with each of these layers being solidified under UV light.

This is done about 20 times before its finished, and the reason for doing this is to reduce the hinge height variance from the industry-standard 0.2mm to a mere 0.05mm

OPPO is also using Auto-Smoothing Flex Glass here, which helps to keep the display flat, even after 600,000 folds. In fact, the Find N6 has passed the TÜV Rheinland Minimized Crease Certification for 600,000 folds, as well as the TÜV Rheinland Reliable Folding Certification.

Ultra slim, ultra powerful

The OPPO Find N6 is also still very slim, just as its predecessor. We’re talking 4.21mm thin when open and 8.93mm thin when closed, which is very similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 7, and just a tad thicker than the HONOR Magic V6.

Despite that thin profile, OPPO is still using the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. But, like with the Find N5 last year, this is the 7-core model. And honestly, after using this for a month, I haven’t really noticed much of a difference in usage. It also comes with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.

OPPO is also using a 6,000mAh capacity battery here, a slight upgrade over last year’s battery capacity. But it’s not the largest battery in a foldable – Magic V6 still holds that title with 6,660mAh. It does have 80W SUPERVOOC and 50W AIRVOOC charging too.

Upgraded cameras

One of the biggest downsides for foldables is usually cameras. And last year, OPPO did downgrade the cameras on the Find N5 to make it thinner, as thin as possible. This year, OPPO is returning the camera to where it should be.

Here, we’re looking at a 200-megapixel primary sensor which is the ISOCELL HP5, while using the ISOCELL JN5 for both the ultra-wide and 3x telephoto camera. Both of these are 50-megapixel cameras. There is also a true color camera, which really helps with getting the most accurate colors on this Hasselblad-branded camera.

With Hasselblad Hi-Res mode, you can shoot in full 50-megapixel on all camera sensors. Or 200-megapixels on the primary sensor. But this also means there’s no sensor-cropping, so you’re only able to shoot in 0.6, 1, 2, and 3x.

Pricing and availability

OPPO has said that the Find N6 will be available in select markets beginning on March 20, which is just a few days away. At the time of writing this, OPPO has not released pricing, but we will update this article when pricing is made available. Just as a reference, the Find N5 launched in China last year for ¥8,999, which is about $1,235.
