Samsung Galaxy S26 Pro to Skip a Camera Upgrade — Fans Won’t Be Happy
by Kristijan Lucic · Android HeadlinesThe Samsung Galaxy S26 Pro will have the exact same cameras as its predecessor, based on a new report. We knew that Samsung won’t change much, but it seems like none of the previous camera hardware will be changed. Well, at least according to a report from Erencan Yilmaz. Do note that his track record is not exactly spotless, so take the info with a grain of salt.
The Galaxy S26 Pro won’t get a camera upgrade, it will have the same sensor as the Galaxy S25
In any case, the tipster claims that the phone will include a 50-megapixel main camera (ISOCELL S5KGN3), along with a 12-megapixel ultrawide unit (Sony IMX564). A 10-megapixel telephoto camera (ISOCELL S5K3K1) will also be included. And last, but not least, the ISOCELL S5K3LU sensor will be used for the selfie shooter.
So, we’ll see basically no change in terms of camera sensors compared to the Galaxy S25. Yes, the Galaxy S26 Pro is going to succeed the Galaxy S25, directly. Speaking of which, we’ve exclusively shown off the Galaxy S26 Pro design not long ago.
The tipster also claims that the phone will feature a 4,300mAh battery and that it will be fueled by the Samsung Exynos 2600 processor. That is probably true as well, as it’s not the first time we’re hearing it.
The device will also look very similar to its predecessor, with a notable change in the camera design on the back. It will still be a compact flagship, essentially. Not many people will be happy about the lack of a change in the camera department, though.
There are alternatives with more powerful cameras and much larger batteries
It’s also worth noting that there are phones out there that are flagship-grade, and similar in size, and have a lot larger battery packs on the inside. Samsung simply refuses to use silicon-carbon tech, unfortunately.
The Galaxy S26 Pro will most likely launch in January. That’s when we’re expecting all three Galaxy S26 series smartphones to arrive. The Galaxy S26 Edge and Galaxy S26 Ultra are expected. Do note that a recent report said that the Galaxy S26 Edge has been canceled, which means we may get the Galaxy S26+ instead of it. We’ll see.
