Galaxy Z TriFold Unboxing Video: Samsung Showcases Its First Tri-Fold Phone

by · Android Headlines

Samsung’s first tri-fold smartphone is the talk of the town now. The Galaxy Z TriFold is its name, and it was announced a couple of days ago. With that being said, Samsung has just released a new promo video on YouTube.

Samsung shows the Galaxy Z TriFold in official unboxing video

This promo video is actually an official unboxing of the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold. It has a duration of around 2 minutes, and it’s embedded below this paragraph for your viewing pleasure.

This video will not only give you a great look at the retail box and what sits inside of it, but it also offers you a really nice look at the phone itself. Samsung shows us how the phone unfolds and how thin it is when unfolded. By the way, a charger is included in the box, as is a case.

It’s notably different than Huawei’s tri-fold offerings

This handset has a completely different unfolding mechanism than the Huawei Mate XT and Mate XTs. It unfolds in a G style or U style, which means its main display is not exposed when fully folded. When fully folded, the cover display on the back takes over.

The downside here is that the cover display does sit on the back when the phone is unfolded, and the fact that you only have two display sizes to work with, a 6.5-inch one and a 10-inch one. Huawei’s phones offer three display sizes, but a part of the display is exposed when the device is folded. Those two phones have only one display.

In any case, Samsung also highlights some Galaxy Z TriFold details in this video. Like the display sizes, the phone’s thickness, and so on. You’ll even get to see the camera details here, its battery capacity, and various other spec info.

It has a 10-inch main display, and a 6.5-inch cover panel

Just to sum up, the Galaxy Z TriFold has a 10-inch main display, a 6.5-inch cover display, and a 5,600mAh battery. It is fueled by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip and measures 3.9mm when unfolded. When folded, it is 12.9mm thick.

The phone was announced in Korea, but it’s coming to China, Taiwan, Singapore, the UAE, and the US. It’s expected to land in the US in Q1 2026.
