OPPO just humiliated Samsung, with the Find N6 announcement

by · Android Headlines

Today, OPPO officially unveiled the Find N6. And like with most press conferences, they compared their new foldable to their competitors. Since Apple doesn’t have a foldable (yet), that competitor was Samsung. Boy, did OPPO humiliate Samsung this time around.

Of course, we’ve already talked about OPPO’s new AI Pen and how it’s basically everything the S Pen used to be, and more. But, OPPO went a step further here. Specifically, going after the crease. Which we all saw coming, it was the feature that OPPO was hyping up ahead of today’s launch, and it’s actually a big deal.

OPPO showed how quickly Samsung’s foldables get a visible crease

Obviously, OPPO was going to talk up its new zero-feel crease design on the Find N6, and this includes comparing it to competitors. This included Samsung here. Now, we all know that when we take a foldable out of the box, it has no visible crease until you fold it. So that’s what OPPO did.

It unboxed the Galaxy Z Fold 7, showed us the lack of a crease when it was first unboxed, folded it for an hour, and then showed the crease again. All while the Find N6 was folded next to it. And the end result was quite telling.

Of course, the crease still looks pretty invisible right now, but what about in a month? 6 months? A year? Well, we have had the Find N6 for a month already, and it still looks pretty much the same as it did on day one. So we have high hopes that it will continue that way. Of course, only time will tell.

Now, Samsung is expected to put a new creaseless folding display on its Galaxy Z Fold 8 later this year. In fact, Samsung Display showed off this panel already at CES. But that doesn’t always mean that Samsung DX will use it in their next foldable – for example, Privacy Display was shown off 3 years before it was actually put into a product.
