Samsung announces the expansion of satellite communication to Galaxy S26 smartphones

Since 2025, Samsung has supported satellite communication on select Galaxy flagship devices and Galaxy A-series models. The South Korean giant notes that it’s continuously expanding the number of supported models. It says that it will continue working with network operators to make sure users have access to communication tools at crucial times.

In the US, Samsung is working with AT&T to support the satellite communication feature on Galaxy smartphones. T-Mobile’s T-Satellite service (T911) has supported text and data services on Galaxy A and S phones since 2025. This is powered by Starlink. Verizon offers eSOS and text services on all Galaxy flagship models following the Galaxy S25 series.

The feature is available in the US, Japan, and Europe

In Europe, Samsung has collaborated with Virgin Media O2 to offer satellite communication on select Galaxy smartphones. It is working with MasOrange in Spain and Vodafone to enable satellite communications.

In Japan, since 2025, satellite communication-based text, data functions, and the Earthquake and Tsunami Warning System (ETWS) have been provided on Galaxy S22 and later flagship and Galaxy A series devices through KDDI. In collaboration with Docomo and SoftBank, the satellite communication feature will be available on select Galaxy flagship and Galaxy A series devices starting in 2026. It is also working with Rakuten Mobile to support satellite communication features on Galaxy smartphones gradually.

Lastly, Samsung says it is also working with more cellular operators globally to expand support across other Galaxy product categories.
