Apple’s iPhone 17 Air May Fly High in Sky Blue — Here’s What We Know

When Apple launched its latest MacBook Air refresh, it introduced a new Sky Blue finish option. Now, according to tipster Majin Bu Official, they claim that Apple could bring the Sky Blue finish to the upcoming iPhone 17 Air.

iPhone 17 Air in Sky Blue

Majin Bu Official had recently shared the color options for the iPhone 17 Air. This included a black, silver, light gold, and light blue finish. Now, in their latest report, they claim the iPhone 17 Air might be offered in a Sky Blue option. We’re not sure if the Sky Blue will replace the “light blue” option, or if Sky Blue will be the official designation for the “light blue” color option.

What’s interesting is that in the report, it was suggested that Apple planned to use Sky Blue for the iPhone 17 Pro. According to the tipster, “Early speculation suggested that a shade like Sky Blue could add vibrancy to the iPhone 17 Pro. However, the latest information indicates Apple has chosen a more refined palette for the Pro.”

That being said, this seems par for the course. We did mention in an earlier report that Apple typically likes to keep the more colorful options for its base iPhone and iPhone Plus models. The company usually reserves the more “serious” and somber colors for its Pro and Pro Max models.

The lightest color we’ve ever seen in an iPhone Pro or Pro Max model is in white or silver. Apple has used other color palettes for the Pro models, like blue and green, but those are considerably darker shades compared to the base iPhone and Plus models. Either way, we’ll find out when Apple announces its iPhones this September.

Apple’s 2025 lineup

The Cupertino tech giant is expected to introduce four new iPhone models this year. This includes the base iPhone 17, the iPhone 17, the iPhone 17 Pro, and the iPhone 17 Pro Max. The base iPhone 17 won’t see any external changes. However, the Pro and Pro Max models will sport a redesigned camera module.

The camera module is larger and stretches across the back of the phone. However, other than that, there are no other external design changes. The iPhone 17 Air will replace the Plus model this year. It will also be Apple’s thinnest iPhone to date. Initial rumors suggested that iPhone 17 Air will sport subpar specs. However, recent reports claim it will be on par with the Pro models in terms of RAM and chipset. The only downside is its camera, where it will reportedly feature a singular camera setup.
