Samsung Is Adding a Fourth Galaxy S27 Model — And It's Basically an Ultra Without the S Pen

by · Android Headlines

According to a new report from a trusted source, Samsung will announce four Galaxy S27 phones. The company is adding another premium phone, which will essentially be a Galaxy S27 Ultra, but without the ‘Ultra’ name, or the stylus. The phone will be called the Galaxy S27 Pro, and the information comes from Ice Universe.

The Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro is coming, and it will be an ‘Ultra’ without the S Pen

The tipster went to X in order to share the info. He said that this will “essentially” be an “Ultra without the S Pen”. So, no, the S Pen will not be included. Based on what was said, that will be the only (main) difference)

All this means that we’ll be getting four models in the Galaxy S27 series, it would seem. Even the tipster said it. The Galaxy S27 will be accompanied by the Galaxy S27+, Galaxy S27 Pro, and Galaxy S27 Ultra.

Considering how many times Samsung changed its mind for the Galaxy S26 series, however, do take this with a grain of salt despite the source. There’s always a chance Samsung will change its mind, as it’s still very early. We’re 9 months away from the launch event, basically.

Samsung wants to “broaden consumer choice”

The tipster mentioned that Samsung wants to “broaden consumer choice” with this move, while also “responding to Apple’s four-model strategy.”

If this ends up being true, this will be the first time since 2020 that Samsung will break the three-tier flagship structure with the standard, Plus, and Ultra models.

The tipster also noted that the ‘Privacy Display’ feature, which is currently exclusive to the Galaxy S26 Ultra, will expand to the Galaxy S27 Ultra and Galaxy S27 Pro. It is also noted that the ‘Edge’ model has been canceled.

We’re not really sure there’s a point in making the same phone as the Galaxy S27 Ultra but without the S Pen, but… Samsung apparently thinks there is. Perhaps a smaller alternative to the Galaxy S27 Ultra would make more sense.
