A new Lenovo Legion gaming phone has been spotted in the wild
by Justin Diaz · Android HeadlinesA new Lenovo Legion gaming phone would be a nice little shock to the current market, which really doesn’t have that many dedicated options like it used to. Once upon a time, mobile gamers were eating good with phone choices from REDMAGIC, ASUS ROG, Lenovo Legion, Black Shark, and at least one or two others, all outside the scope of the typical high-end flagships from Samsung and other brands. They had dedicated gaming features like ultrasonic triggers, more developed game center apps, internal cooling fans, and much more.
These days, gaming phones have been ground down to just a few options. In the US, the only real gaming phone option available officially is what comes from REDMAGIC. ASUS has removed its ROG Phones (and Zenfones) from the market. Black Shark phones aren’t officially available in the US, and Lenovo stopped making gaming phones before ASUS did. It seems Lenovo and its Legion Phone lineup could be making a comeback with this new, unannounced device.
A new Lenovo Legion gaming phone looks similar to the Motorola Edge 70
There’s a lot that is still unknown about this mysterious Legion phone from Lenovo, and that includes whether or not the phone will even be released. That being said, it seems like that probably could be less of a concern, because this is definitely a new and unreleased Legion phone model at a new event. Lenovo likely brought it there to show off because it plans to launch the device.
Specs are also unknown at this point. Nothing appears to be mentioned on Weibo (where these images originated from Smart Pikachu), or in Notebookcheck’s report about the device hardware. Lenovo either kept that under wraps at the event, or nobody on Weibo who shared these images has shared the details.
It’s also worth noting that you can’t see the whole device design. You can, however, see the top half of it, which comes with what looks like a triple camera system in a square-shaped camera bump. The design is a lot like Motorola’s Edge 70. That makes sense, given that Lenovo owns Motorola. The two companies likely have plenty of design overlap. If this phone releases this year, it’s likely to come with a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset.
