Sony has released a new software update for the WH-1000XM6 and WF-1000XM5 wireless audio products with a handful of improvements. The company has upgraded the firmware of the WF-1000XM5 and WH-1000XM6 to version 5.0.2 and version 2.0.2, respectively.
The updates for these devices improve Quick Access and Scene-based Listening modes with Apple Music and YouTube Music services. Furthermore, user can now enable a Low Latency mode. This is in addition to the previous Bluetooth connection methods: Prioritize Sound Quality and Prioritize Stable Connection.
Sony’s WF-1000XM5 Version 5.0.2 software update also enhances system software security features, apart from delivering general performance improvements.
Sony’s WH-1000XM6 also getting moisture detection, support for more languages
Sony has also enabled the “Capture Voice During a Phone Call” setting for all Ambient Sound Control modes for the WH-1000XM6 wireless headphones in the new update. Furthermore, the update adds French, German, and Spanish to the voice-controlled-supported languages. Additionally, it brings a moisture detection feature for the headphone’s USB-C port.
To update your Sony headphones and earbuds, you’ll need to open the Sony Sound Connect app on your phone. Charge your audio devices fully before upgrading the firmware, as the process could take nearly an hour to complete.
