HBO Max streaming to launch in Israel this month
The Warner Bros. Discovery service arrives as company signs acquisition deal with Netflix

Discovery, will launch in Israel on January 13 as part of its ongoing global expansion.
HBO original series such as “House of the Dragon,” “The White Lotus,” “Euphoria” and the upcoming “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms,” as well as movies such as “Superman,” “Minecraft: The Movie,” “Batman,” and the Harry Potter films will be available for streaming in Israel through the service.
“We’re thrilled to bring HBO Max directly to viewers in Israel—a market with an active, engaged audience that values high-quality storytelling,” said Jamie Cook, Head of Operations at Warner Bros. Discovery for Asia-Pacific, Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Turkey, and Africa.
HBO Max will offer two monthly subscription plans in Israel: a standard plan for watching on two devices at NIS 50 ($16) a month, and a premium plan for watching on four devices at NIS 65 ($20) a month. Subscribers can add sports to the base plan.
HBO Max will also be available through selected TV providers in Israel.
Warner Bros. Discovery announced Friday that Netflix will acquire WBD, including its film and TV studios, its gaming business, HBO Max and HBO in a $82.7 billion deal.
The Netflix deal came after a weeks-long bidding war that pitted the streaming giant against David Ellison’s Paramount Skydance and Comcast.
There has been no talk as of yet of merging the companies’ streaming services.
