When he is back Down Under is often seen swimming and running on the iconic beach or visiting cafés and restaurants in the area.

Jackman purchased the luxury, low-rise apartment for $5.9 million in 2015.

The three-bedroom property is complete with glorious, panoramic ocean views and luxury finishes throughout.

He retained the residence during his divorce from his wife Deborra-Lee Furness.

The decision to secure the base at Bondi was hardly surprising, as the Wolverine star is often spotted at the beach when visiting his home country.

The deadly terror attack at Australia's most iconic tourist destination unfolded on Sunday as hundreds gathered to attend the Chanukah by the Sea event, marking the first day of Hanukkah.

Two heavily armed men, allegedly Naveed Akram, 24, and his father, Sajid Akram, 50, stood on a pedestrian footbridge and opened fire with military-grade weapons on crowds of locals, holidaymakers and families.

Naveed remains in hospital under police guard after being shot by officers. He remains in a coma but is expected to survive.

His father Sajid, a licensed firearms holder, was shot dead by police.
