PM Modi Becomes 1st World Leader to Receive Ethiopia’s Highest Civilian Honour

ADDIS ABABA, Dec 16: Prime Minister Narendra Modi was on Tuesday conferred with Ethiopia’s highest civilian award, The Great Honour Nishan of Ethiopia, by Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali during an official visit to Addis Ababa, marking a historic first for any world leader.

 

The honour was presented to Prime Minister Modi at a special ceremony held at the Addis International Convention Centre.

 

According to the Ministry of External Affairs, the award recognizes Prime Minister Modi’s exceptional contribution to strengthening the India–Ethiopia partnership and his visionary leadership as a global statesman. (Agencies)
