Child killed in 'intense' Kent house fire as second youngster rushed to hospital
A child has died following a house fire in Hamstreet, Ashford, Kent - a second youngster has been ruhsed to hospital

Fire crews were called to a property in White Admiral Way, in Hamstreet, Ashford, following reports of a house fire earlier today.
Six fire engines and a height vehicle were sent to the scene. Kent Fire and Rescue Service said the "intense" blaze had spread throughout the home. Tragically, the fire service confirmed one child died at the scene while another has been taken to hospital.
Ann Millington, KFRS' Chief Executive added: "Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with everyone affected by this tragic incident, especially the child's loved ones.
"We understand this will be a distressing time for the local community and support is available at a welfare hub set up at Hamstreet Village Hall."
An investigation into the cause of the fire is currently ongoing. People in the area had earlier been told to keep doors and windows closed, but there is no longer a need to.
Two fire engines remained at the scene as of 5.45pm, the fire service said.
