Houthi rebel-controlled media in Yemen has said that US strikes hit a migrant detention centre and killed at least 68 people in the movement's stronghold of Saada.

Rebel Houthi media reported that US strikes on the Yemen capital Sanaa had killed at least eight people and wounded others.

Blood stains, bodies, and children's toys could be seen among the rubble in the Bani Al Harith district in a video released by the Islamic extremist military group.

The Houthi militia, which is backed by Iran, said the attack was an American strike. The U.S. Defense Department said it was assessing the claims and took them seriously.
